What’s fun around Rosebud?
Published 1 year, 9 months ago in Where I Live.I’ll be spending a week at a timeshare resort near Rosebud soon. Can anyone suggest some fun places for me and my pals (all students) to go? (or NOT to go) Beaches, restaurants, tourist spots, events… anything reasonably priced?
Much appreciated!

I hope you enjoy your stay in Rosebud!
There’s stacks of places and things to do round there. If your into walking go to Point Nepean and look at the old fort great views and interesting (costs). The Myths & Legends Sand sculpting exhibition starts on Rye forshore from Feb 17, if you head down Boneo Rd that gets you to Cape Schank (costs), the blow hole (free) the black pebble beach there is magical. Flinders and Shoreham Beaches are not bad and free but you have to pay to get onto Pt Leo. Ashcombe Maze is beautiful and fun also costs, there are other mazes too. Ace Hi have horse rides on the beach. There’s 2 carnivals on the foreshore one at Rye , the other at Rosebud. Most things are really easy to get to just use your Melways. We just spent a week down there and had a ball, hope you do likewise.
Wow!! Hats off to both of you for providing so much help to a new-comer at nook. Very impressive!
Just one other thing if you decide to go to Point Nepean take some REALLY good insect repellant the flies are ferocious.
I am always happy to promote my home! It keeps our kids in work!
Yes, thankyou all SO MUCH! You’re all so helpful! And the advice about insect repellant will no doubt save a lot of bother for us suburbanites.
meinrosebud forgot to mention the beaches, there is the back beach (cold and at times fearce) ocean beach and the troad to tassy, then there is the front beach, the front beach at Portsea, Sorrento, Blairgowrie, Rye, Rosebud, McCrae, Droman etc and so on all great for a swim, walk, and a romantic interlude. Enjoy
Rosebud.
if your going to the front beaches, rosebud pier may not be the greatest. if you go further down to mcrae its heaps better or snorkeling off anthonys nose on the way to dromana. there a little known reef just out from shore.
