If you buy a Magnum ice cream, you can get into Gold Class cinemas for $15! Everyone loves ice cream and watching movies in luxury.
The deal is, you just buy an individual Magnum with an “M” on the wrapper (it’s hard to see, but it’s there) and inside, they give you a code. If you enter the code on their website, they send you a voucher to print out. Next, you take the voucher to a Village Cinema and you can upgrade a normal $15 movie ticket to a Gold Class ticket for free.

I have no idea how good Gold Class is, but I’ll be finding out soon! *chocolatey grin*
See what showbags you can buy at this year’s Royal Melbourne Show! I’m on the mailing list, and I quote,
“…save time by doing your research and decision making before the Show even starts…”
You can search by keyword and price. They all look so good! Here’s the link.

Mining for Meaning
They sent me to work in the University
Going 120 pages deep each week
And mining for meaning
So I don’t have to work in the hot sun
Or dirty my hands dealing with the unwashed masses
So I learnt about nature in all its pristine beauty
And the depth of each person’s feelings
Searching the unsearchable
No time to look around, lest I miss the vein of truth
That must be chiselled out of every textbook
It’s much easier now, as I descend the ladder
To my high distinctions
My eyes have accustomed
Cultivated a blur that smudges all beyond 30 cm beyond recognition
I don’t get distracted any more
3 Thai Tables Thai Restaurant
I’ve been to Thai Tables in Bayswater once before, and tonight my folks took me there for my birthday. The first thing I noticed was how they had expanded the restaurant to fit more people in, and this was a sure indication of enjoyable food. Restaurants tend to be popular for a reason!
When I tasted the stir-fried vegies in red curry sauce, I discovered what that reason was. Delicious! So much flavour, without being too hot. I can also attest to the great taste, size and price of the stir-fry noodle combination, stir-fry prawns & vegies, and satay beef. And I insist that you try the coconut rice along with whatever you choose - the menu has numerous options for all tastes.
Even on a busy, “full-house” friday night, there were so many staff around that our orders, questions and requests for water and extra menus were attended to immediately.
Low points were the rather hard chairs and small serving-size of the desserts (not as good value as the mains). Friday night was perhaps too noisy if you’re planning a romantic evening.
What else can I say? I highly recommend Thai Tables!

Thanks to everyone who gave me advice about getting my ear pierced! It was all very interesting and helpful, and today I ended up getting 2 little blue studs in the left upper-ear. They’re still a bit sore, but they look great and I’ll spray ‘n’ twirl ‘em every day!
I got it done at a hairdresser at Forest Hill Chase ($15 for the piercings and the earrings, $8 for the antiseptic spray).
I’m thinking of getting the upper part of my ear pierced (the cartilege), and I had a couple of questions:
1) Which ear should I get pierced? I know guys have a superstition about one ear being “the gay ear” and so on. Is it the same for girls?
2) Does anyone know a good place to get it done? Hopefully clean and not too dear. I’d prefer sleepers, but I’ll make do with studs.
